**Position Overview**
We’re looking for an experienced Database Engineer to join our team as a senior technical specialist.
In this role, you’ll design, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise-grade database environments across MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.
You’ll also help shape our data strategy, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
**Key responsibilities**
+ Administer and fine-tune MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL Server databases
+ Troubleshoot and optimize complex SQL queries across multiple dialects
+ Design scalable, high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) architectures
+ Resolve performance bottlenecks in large-scale environments
+ Manage user roles, backups, restorations, and version upgrades
+ Implement database changes with minimal business disruption
+ Collaborate on projects, translating business needs into technical solutions
+ Maintain documentation and build knowledge repositories
+ Evaluate new database technologies and licensing options
+ Participate in on-call rotations and incident response
**Key requirements**
Outline the essential competencies and characteristics that candidates must demonstrate to contribute to our diverse, inclusive culture and succeed in the role.
These may include:
+ 5–8 years of hands-on experience in database administration
+ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
+ Proven ability to lead projects independently and drive results
+ Experience with cloud-based database platforms
+ Background in IT infrastructure is a plus
+ Certifications in MySQL or PostgreSQL are a bonus
**Education/ Qualifications**
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT preferred
